Problem gambling does not have to mean you are totally out of control; it is any gambling behaviour that disrupts your life or the life of your loved ones. The impacts of problem gambling can be far reaching and can include: Debt or other financial problems. Disordered/problem gambling is a “hidden” behavioral addiction The latest data on Oregon students shows that gambling starts as early as sixth grade, and that youth who gamble are much more likely to be involved in other risky behaviors. People who weren’t challenged to develop delayed gratification during their childhoods are the most at risk of forming a gambling problem. They were indulged. They were pampered and told they were. Explain that gambling results in losing more often than winning. Spending money on things they want is better than losing it all on a bet. Explain that underage gambling is illegal.
